Langtry Cottage is a self-catering cottage, perfect for a family holiday. Situated in an ideal position, a stone’s throw away from the Exmoor National Park and with view of the Quantocks, Britain’s first designated area of outstanding natural beauty, Langtry Cottage in Washford, West Somerset lies less than a mile from Exmoor National Park Bordering the village of Roadwater which is at the foot of the Brendon Hills in Exmoor National Park.
It is also only a couple of miles from the historic
harbour town of Watchet. It is also only a few
minutes drive from the Quantock Hills. |

Langtry Cottage is in an ideal position for exploring Exmoor and the delights of the beautiful hills, valleys and woods and also the variety of sandy and rocky beaches, between Minehead to the west and Kilve to the east. Also being very near to the beautiful beach at Blue Anchor.

in an ideal location for riding, walking or cycling up on
Exmoor or the Quantock Hills or just relaxing in lovely surroundings.
Langtry Cottage adjoins the rear of Langtry Country House
Bed & Breakfast where it is set back from the A39 main
road by some 90 metres. It occupies a very quiet and peaceful
position.
The property, with its four acres of grounds, stands at the
eastern end of the small village of Washford, only a mile
just outside Exmoor National Park.
Exclusive use of Log Cabin with veranda. Ideal for barbequing
outside with table and chairs. Makes great play area for
children or just relaxing in your own secluded garden area.

Shops, banks, and all the expected
services of a large village are to be found in Williton
a mile to the east. More shops, supermarkets, etc are at
Minehead and also at Taunton, the county town.
Within a short distance of Langtry Cottage there are
a number of pubs offering good food wines and locally
brewed real ales. Including The Valiant Soldier Inn,
Roadwater, The Royal Oak, Luxborough, The Notely Arms,
Monksilver, Raleighs Cross Inn, and the Whitehorse, Washford.
Local attractions include Colelridge Way, Dunster Castle,
Minehead, Porlock Weir, Cleeve Abbey, and interesting
villages to explore like Wheddon Cross.

local events like Dunster By Candlelight – November
or Dunster Fair in August. |

Helga
Bates, as proprietor, runs both Langtry Cottage and Langtry
Country House (for B & B). She is very attentive to
the needs of her guests, this factor being partly responsible
for the highest bed and breakfast grading given to Langtry
Country House.
For Langtry Cottage self-catering holidays have an important
factor is in the care and attention given to facilities
and comfort. There are two bedrooms, a large one with a
double bed and ensuite with bath, etc.
The other has twin beds and has its own toilet room,
with shower, close by. Additionally there is a lounge,
a well-equipped kitchen with washing machine and a
dining area. Heating is provided by bottled gas central
heating.

The internal floor area of Langtry Cottage is some sixty-six
square metres.
The spacious lounge has a television, video player and
comfortable seating. Including a pull out sofa enabling
the cottage to sleep up to 6 people for an extra supplement.
A well-behaved small dog may bed down in a designated
tiled floor area between the double bedroom and the dining
area.
Otherwise there are three kennels for larger and
working dogs.
The cottage is non-smoking.

For those who enjoy reading
there is a small selection of books that may be borrowed,
with others being available on request.
The larger bedroom has an ensuite with a bath and overhead
shower. There is a very comfortable king-size bed, a
bedside radio and a very large wardrobe.
The second bathroom has a large shower cubicle, which
is adjacent to the twin bedroom. |
